While I’m sad that the summer is over (we actually had some sun in the UK this year!) the arrival of Autumn brings with it a number of exciting lingerie launches. I’ve been lusting over these for over a year in some cases, and the wait has not dampened my lust. Now I’m champing at the bit for the release of some of my favourites, and have been fruitlessly searching the internet in the hope they will pop up before the advertised launch date. Yes, I’m truly obsessed. Anyway, I thought I’d share with you a few of the objects of my desire.
A babydoll in my size is something I never thought I’d see. The Cleo Marcie is top of my list, as the fit of the bra was so good on me that I was convinced to purchase (and wear) an unpadded bra – an almost unheard of occurrence. The basic black colour of this is a great choice and will make it equally suitable for day or night, while the polka dots keep it young and fresh. I think babydolls get a bit of a bad rep from the proliferation of overly sexualised designs/images, but the accessible design of the Marcie eschews this trend and will appeal to a huge range of women. And the best part is that the 28-38 D-J size range should mean a huge chunk of them can get it in their size, and for the bargain price of just £35! Anticipated launch date is THIS MONTH. Can you tell I’m excited?!!
And if one babydoll wasn’t enough for you, there’s a SECOND one coming out this Autumn/Winter! The Curvy Kate Lola Babydoll is a padded option with a beautiful print that makes me think art deco and menswear at the same time. The fit will match that of the Daily Boost, a note which I loved when I spotted it in the catalogue as it takes some of the unknown out of trying a new product. Unfortunately for me the Daily Boost wasn’t a great fit, but my boyfriend likes this one so much I’ll be purchasing it anyway. Who would have thought I’d be spoilt for choice on the babydoll front? The size range on this one is an even more awesome 28-40 D-K, so if you just miss out on the Marcie size range here’s one for you to try! It looks like it will retail for a purse friendly £39, and will launch in October 2013. Also, how cute is that eye mask?
Another quick Curvy Kate mention has to go to the Starlet set in Petrol. The fit of this one matches the Smoothie – again not a great fit for me, but it’s my favourite colour. Enough said. Due out this month!
Even more perfect in colour is the Deco Honey in Jade. Alas, I must wait until November to own this beauty!
Finally, I must mention All Undone Lingerie. I’ve been eagerly awaiting their launch date for months now, and you may have seen images of a beautiful model in a white body (another item I never thought I’d see in my size – lingerie designers are really treating us this season!) floating about the internet. They’ve been tight-lipped about the rest of the collection, but posted a picture of the gorgeous Didi set on their Facebook page not too long ago and I can’t wait to get my hands on it. The price point will be higher than the items I’ve mentioned above, but the designs are original, intriguing and just my cup of tea. Launching this month and I CAN’T WAIT!
So there’s a quick round-up of my favourite Autumn/Winter pieces. Whilst I go and sort out a bank loan to buy them all, let me know in the comments what you’re looking forward to this season!
